Environment Monitoring
- Combined ASTER and MODIS data with land-based observational and measurement data conducts the correction of the satellite sensor data from geometric and atmospheric distortion by taking advantage of characteristics of each data.
- The corrected data improves the accuracy of biophysical parameters and precision of land use/land cover maps (topographical data).
- Not only ASTER/MODIS data but other satellite data and data from widely distributed land-based observation sites can be seamlessly integrated and expanded to provide improvements in accuracy for global-scale land use/land cover maps or the global carbon cycle model.
You can see the "KUSHI" site, which is the integration web site of the rapid ASTER/MODIS images and the in-situ data obtained by Phenological Eyes Network (PEN).
