Access to GEO Grid portal in your web browser. Login with your username and your password. If you do not have an account for our system, please visit here.

An administration profile page will be opened. You can chose available services and setup your user information (not mandatory) here.

Click the Satellite DATA IMS tab in order to move to the satellite data search page.

How to search satellite data

Satellite Sensors
Select satellite sensors you want to process and retrieve. Some sensors are available depending on your permissions.

Observation Period
Enter start and end dates of an observation period that you wish to search in the spaces with “From” and “To”, respectively. The date format should be year-month-day (e.g. 2006-01-18). Choose observation time from the pull-down menu (optional). It is also possible to select a date from the calendar icon beside the entry space. Click the button and choose a date, then it will be entered in the space automatically.

Search Area
Enter a northern limit of a search area in N, a southern limit in S, an eastern limit in E and a western limit in S sexagesimally. Selecting an area from the global map in the left-hand side of the screen is also possible. Click the select objective button below the map and drag and drop on the global map, then a red square appears on it. The area of the square is entered in each space of the Search Area automatically.

Global Map
Zoom in the map with the + button and zoom out with the – button. Shift the map area with the hand button. Return to the previous screen or go to forward with the back and forward buttons. By clicking on the globe button, the map goes back to the default state. Use the latitude and longitude information appeared in the lower right-hand corner of the map as a guide to select your interesting area.

Data Quality
You can choose an overcast rate in ASTER data. Enter 50 in a case that you wish to obtain data with less than or equal to 50% overcast rate. Only such images appear in the search result list (optional).

Day or Night
You can choose data obtained in the daytime and/or at night. The default is both. When you want only daytime data, choose Day. If you wish only nighttime data, select Night. Remain Both if you do not mind. This value is defined by solar elevation in metadata.

Maximum Result per Page
Select how many images a search result page should show. The more the number, the longer it takes to display.
After you enter parameters you need, click on the search button. The result shows up at the bottom of the page.

Click the download button of the data you would like to obtain, then a request page is opened.

How to download data in GridSphere Portal

Click Satellite Data IMS tab and select job results menu below the tab, then a File Download Portlet page appears.

Click on the “Update File List” button, then a file list of created data based on your request appears. Click a link to each file displayed under “Filename”to download.

Save the file according to your web browser method and choose a destination for the downloaded file. A download begins.
